Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a UK visa application take?
Processing times vary by route. Standard visitor visas typically take 3 weeks. Skilled Worker visas take around 3–8 weeks. Family visas can take 8–12 weeks or longer. Priority services are available for many routes at an additional Home Office fee.
What is the minimum income for a spouse visa?
From April 2024, the minimum income threshold is £29,000 per year. This may increase further. Savings can sometimes be used to meet the requirement if income alone is insufficient.
What is the salary threshold for a Skilled Worker visa?
The general threshold is £38,700 per year, or the going rate for your occupation, whichever is higher. Lower thresholds apply for new entrants and certain shortage occupations.
Can my employer sponsor me if they do not have a licence?
No. Your employer must hold a valid sponsor licence before assigning you a Certificate of Sponsorship. We can assist employers with licence applications alongside your visa application.
What happens if my visa application is refused?
Options depend on the route and reason for refusal. You may be able to request an administrative review, appeal to a tribunal, or submit a fresh application with stronger evidence. We review every refusal urgently and advise on the best course of action.
Do you charge by the hour or fixed fees?
We operate on fixed fees for most work. Once we have assessed your case at a free consultation, we provide a written quote covering all legal work, no hidden costs or surprise bills.
Can a Home Office audit be unannounced?
Yes. The Home Office can conduct unannounced compliance visits to businesses with sponsor licences. Proactive preparation is essential, we offer pre-audit reviews and mock audits.
